How to Play and Learn Morse Code
Morse code represents letters and numbers using short signals called dots and longer signals called dashes. In this trainer, a dot is written as . and a dash is written as -.
Game Modes
- Learn: Look at the Morse pattern, type the matching letter or number, and use Hint when needed.
- Quiz: Listen to a Morse sound, then type the character you heard.
- Timed Game: Answer as many mixed visual and typing prompts as possible in 60 seconds.
Controls
- Press Enter to submit an answer.
- Press Space to replay audio when you are not typing in an input box.
- For encode prompts, type dots and dashes directly, such as
.-for A.
Learning Tips
- Start with a small group of letters and practice until recognition feels automatic.
- Listen for rhythm instead of counting every dot and dash.
- Use short daily sessions. Five focused minutes is better than one long frustrated session.
- Move to timed practice only after you can identify common letters without checking the table.
